             This letter responds to your request for information on the
             Adult Education Act (AEA). As we discussed with your
             staff, we are providing you information in two phases. At
             this time, we are providing interim, basic program
             information based primarily on data provided by the U.S.
             Department of Education. We have not verified these data.
             For your convenience, we have associated the data with the
             specific questions agreed upon with your staff.

             1.   What has been the funding history of the AEA?
