The Navy advises that the AN/Rc-3 was intended to meet the requirements of the Inteirnational Tetecommunicationu Union, which allocates commni- cation frequencies and wrescribez uses thereof. Subsequent to the award of the contract for the A/SRC.34 to your firm, Congress enetod Public law 92-63, August 4, 1971, which requires certain cateppries of nitor vessels operating on navigable waterways of the United States to have a radiotelephone capability on the navigational brido and &s requires a listening watch.
