           We Kill Boys

           In New York

                  By EARL WILSON

124 Lexington Avenue, N. Y.

The following account of the slaughter of
four boys by the State of New York, by you
and by me-is by Earl Wilson, a so-called hard
boiled newspaper man. Yet his story shows
more pity and more understanding than Judges,
Jury and Governor showed.
Show them no mercy! was the official atti-
tude.
All of these boys but one had no prior crim-
inal arrests. The young killer, put out on the
streets at 12 to shift for himself by a step-father,
was unaided by the great City of Detroit, or
later by the Empire State of New York.
Are we afraid of this Youth we have
wronged?
Do our official representatives want to put
Youth finally where it will not reproach us?
