Mr. YOUNG of Alaska, from the Committee on Resources,
submitted the following
REPORT
together with
DISSENTING VIEWS

The Committee on Resources, to whom was referred the bill
(H.R. 2547) to provide for the conveyance of land interests to Chu-
gach Alaska Corporation to fulfill the intent, purpose, and promise
of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, having considered the
same, report favorably thereon with an amendment and rec-
ommend that the bill as amended do pass.
The amendment is as follows:
Strike out all after the enacting clause and insert in lieu thereof
the following:
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the Chugach Alaska Natives Settlement Implementa-
tion Act of 1999.
SEC. 2. DEFINITIONS.
For the purposes of this Act, the following definitions apply:
(1) The term ANCSA means the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, as
amended (43 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.).
(2) The term ANILCA means the Alaska National Interest Lands Conserva-
tion Act of 1980, as amended (16 U.S.C. 3101 et seq.).
