[To accompany H.J. Res. 116]
The Committee on Education and the Workforce, to whom was
referred the joint resolution (H.J. Res 116) providing for congres-
sional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code,
of the rule submitted by the Department of Labor relating to Em-
ployee or Independent Contractor Classification Under the Fair
Labor Standards Act, having considered the same, reports favor-
ably thereon without amendment and recommends that the joint
resolution do pass.
PURPOSE
The purpose of H.J. Res 116 is to disapprove of the rule related
to Employee or Independent Contractor Classification under the
Fair Labor Standards Act that was first announced on October 13,
2022, and published as a final rule in the Federal Register on Jan-
uary 10, 2024.
