It is hoped and expeded, that this want of Confidence in the
*  fiuice and Tenderne/s of the Mother Country, and this open
Re/ffance to its Authority, can only -bave found Place among
'the lower and more ignorant of the People : The better and
 wifer Part of the Colonies will know, that Decency and Sub-
mifion may prevail, not only to redref/ Grievances, but to
obtain Grace and Favour; while the Outrage of a public Fio-
lence san exped nothirg but Severity and Chaffi/ement.
