CONGRESSIONAL BUDGET OFFICE
           COST ESTIMATE

June 1, 2018

                                 H.R. 2561
                            POLICE Act of 2017

As ordered reported by the House Committee on the Judiciary on May 17, 2018

H.R. 2561 would permit uniformed federal, state, or local law enforcement personnel to
carry certain firearms and other weapons in selected federal facilities. CBO estimates that
implementing the bill would have no significant cost to the federal government.

Enacting the bill would not affect direct spending or revenues; therefore, pay-as-you-go
procedures do not apply.

CBO estimates that enacting H.R. 2561 would not increase net direct spending or on-
budget deficits in any of the four consecutive 10-year periods beginning in 2029.

H.R. 2561 contains no intergovernmental or private-sector mandates as defined in the
Unfunded Mandates Reform Act.

The CBO staff contact for this estimate is Mark Grabowicz. The estimate was approved
by H. Samuel Papenfuss, Deputy Assistant Director for Budget Analysis.
