H.R. 181
Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act of 2015

As ordered reported by the

House Committee on the Judiciary on January 21, 2015

SUMMARY
H.R. 181 would authorize the appropriation of $5 million annually over the 2015-2019
period for the Department of Justice to provide grants to state and local governments to
improve the investigation and prosecution of child trafficking crimes and to assist victims.
Assuming appropriation of the authorized amounts, CBO estimates that implementing
H.R. 181 would cost $18 million over the 2015-2020 period.
We also estimate that the bill would have an insignificant effect on direct spending and
revenues; therefore, pay-as-you-go procedures apply to the legislation.
H.R. 181 contains no intergovernmental or private-sector mandates as defined in the
Unfunded Mandates Reform Act (UMRA).
