UPDATE: The Louisiana legislature ended its regular session in June 2024 without
calling a constitutional convention, leaving open the possibility that lawmakers would
call a special session over the summer to consider an overhaul of the state
constitution. In late July, lawmakers announced that they would not call a special
session in August to convene a convention.
