       During  the past year the National Sports
 aw  Institute and the Sports Law Program  at
 Maiquette University Law School hav e continued
 to provide diverse educational opportunities for
 law students as wsell as current and future leaders
 in the sports industry, while also providing a
 national forum for the thoughtful consideration
 and discussion of American  and International
 sports law issues.

    THE  EVOLVING NATURE OF HIGH
    SCHOOL,   COLLEGE AND OLYMPIC
      SPORTS   IN TIE  21ST CENTURY

      On   Thursday,  October 21  and Friday,
October  22  2004,  the Natonal  Sports  Law
Institute hosted The Evolving aure   of /hgh

centony conference at the Hiton Milwaukee City
Center in downtown   Milwaukee    Conference
sponsors included  the lasv tim  of Foley  &
Lauer   College Sports Inc., ScheerGame Sports
Dewelopment, LLC and the Sports &
Enertainnent  Law  Section of the State Bar of
Wisconsin.
        The two-ay  conference featured seIeral
panel discussing cutting edge issues in amateur
athletics from drug estiang in sports to amateurism
and gender equity The conference began with a
panel on Lhug Teting  in Sorts. Moderated by
NSL   Ductor  Matt Mtten, Chair of the NCAA's
(Committee n Competitie  Safeguards and
