   THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES,
                'fIN COMPLIANCE WITH A RESOLUTION OF THE SENATE,
Communicating   a report of an expedition led by Lieutenant Abert, on the
  upper Arkansas  and through the country of the Camanche Indians, in
  the fall of the year 1845.

  JUNE 16, 1846.-Read, and referred to the Committee on Military Affairs.
  Jurv 11, 1846.-Ordered to ie printed, with the maps and sketches of scenery; and that
2,000 copies in addition to the usual number be printed, 100 of which shall be for the use of
the Topographical Bureau.

To  the Senate of the United States
  1 transmit, herewith, a communication from the Secretary of War, ac-
companied  by a report of an expedition led by Lieutenant Abert, on the,
upper Arkansas  and through the country of the Camanche  Indians, in
the fall of the year 1845, as requested by the resolution of the Senate of
the 9th instant.

  SIR:  I have the honor to submit, herewith, a copy of the report of the
expedition led by Lieutenant Abert, on the upper Arkansas and through
the country of the Camanche Indians, in the fall of the year 1845, as re-
quested in the resolution of the Senate of the 9th instant.

  SIR:  In obedience to your direction I have the honor to lay before you
 the report of the expedition led by Lieutenant Abert, on the upper Ar-
kansas and through the country of the Camanche  Indians, in the fall of
the year 1845, called for by a resolution of the Senate, dated the 9th
instant.
