The election was called in accordance with an order issued on March 6, 1986, by the Assistant Secretary - Indian Affairs, which permitted the qualified voters of the Stillaguamish Tribe to vote on the adoption or rejection of a constitution. As evidenced by the completed Certificate of Results of Election (Article XVII of the new governing document), the constitution was duly adopted by the voters.. The Constitution of the Stillaguamish is hereby approved pursuant to the authority granted to the Secretary of the Interior by the Act of June 18, 1934 (48 Stat. 984), as amended, and delegated to me by 209 DM 8.3, Please deliver the approved constitution to the tribe.
