  ROUGH:- ANADARKO AREA DIRECIOR

  Ms. Julie M. Langan
  superintendent, Pawnee Agency
  Bureau of Indian Affairs
  P. 0. Box 440
  Pawnee, Oklabxxa 74058

  Dear Ms. Langan:

We have received the results of the election held on July 31, 1990, by the
qualified voters of the Kaw Tribe of Oklahcma. The election was called in
accordance with an order issued on April 25, 1990, by the Acting Deputy to the
Assistant Secretary - Indian Affairs (Tribal Services) which permitted the
qualified voters of the Kaw Tribe to vote on the adoption or rejection of a
  proposed constitution.

We have also received a validly filed letter contesting the results of that
election. After carefully considering the allegations, I found nothing that
would justify a recount of the ballots or the holding of a new election.

As evidenced by the ccmpleted Certificate of Results of Election, the
Constitution of the Kaw Nation of Oklahoma was duly adcpted by a vote of 137
for and 43 against in an election in which at least thirty percent (30%) of
the 245 members registered and entitled to vote cast their ballots.

The Constitution of the Kaw Nation of Oklabxia is hereby approved pursuant to
the authority granted to the Secretary of the Interior by the Act of June 26,
1936, (49 Stat. 1967) and delegated to Ire by 230 D.M. 2.4. Please deliver the
enclosed original document to the tribe.

                                    Sincerely,

Deputy to the Assistant Secretary -
                                       Indian Affairs (Tribal Services)
