     Dear Chief Enyart:

     By memorandum dated March 2, 19 93     the Actina Muskogee Area
     Director transmitted to the Miami Agency Iuierintendent the
     approved amendment to the Constitution of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe
     of Oklahoma as adopted on February 19, 1999.,

     The results of the election held Jvne 17, 1999, were forwarded to
     the Muskogee Area office on June 23, 1999. The election was called
     in accordance with Title 25 of the Code of Federal Regulations,
     Part 81 (25 C.F.R. 81).

     The proposed amendment was duly adopted by a vote of 115 for, 48
     against, and 6 ballots found spoiled, in an election in which at
     least thirty percent of the 270 members registered and entitled to
     vote cast their ballots. Having been duly approved and ratified,
     Proposed Amendment #A is being designated Axiendment Number 1 to the
     Constitution of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma.

     We wish to extend our congratulations on this accomplishment and
     are pleased to forward Amendment Number 1 and the Certificate of
     Approval. For easy reference, the Miami Agency has incorporated
     the approved amendment into your Constitution. We appreciate their
     efforts and are forwarding a copy of that document to you also.
