The International Law Commission, established in pursuance of Gen- eral Assembly Resolution 174 (II) of 21 November 1947, and in accord- ance with its Statute annexed thereto, as subsequently amended, held the first part of its Seventeenth Session at the European Office of the United Nations from 3 Mlay to 9 July 1965. The work of the Commission during this part of the Seventeenth Session is described in this report. Chapter II of the report contains a description of the Commission's work on the law of treaties and twenty-five articles, consisting of general provisions and provisions on the conclusion of treaties, reservations, entry into force and registration, correction of errors and the functions of depositaries. Chapter III contains a description of the Commission's work on special missions and forty-four articles, with commentaries on the topic of special missions; sixteen of these articles were provisionally adopted by the Com- mission at its Sixteenth Session in 1964, and twenty-eight articles at the present session. Chapter IV relates to the programme of work and or- ganization of future sessions of the Commission. Chapter V deals with a number of administrative and other questions. A.
